Turning a lead form into an AI assistant for home sellers.
Zefir connects home sellers with real-estate agents, and the answers to its seller lead form feed their home estimate. I turned that form into an AI chat, which came out 15 pts above the form on conversion.
The problem
Sellers signed after two mandatory calls, mostly there to explain how Zefir works and to reassure them. The vision was a conversational journey where those calls become optional. The first milestone was to see whether an AI chat could collect the same data as the lead form. My success criterion was to match the form’s conversion.
The bet
“Let an AI chat collect the same data as the form, and reassure sellers as they answer.”
What I did
- Designed the self-serve vision, from first visit to signature.
- Designed the chat and its guidance widgets, visual and short on text, with recent sales and agents nearby.
- Coded the whole chat.
Qualifying in a chat
Right after giving their address, sellers see what sold nearby in a visual widget. This is where most of the reassurance is. The next questions follow, each with its own widget.

Challenges
- Asking every questionThe prompt sets the order of the questions, and the estimate needs every answer. The rule: sellers don’t reach their estimate until every required field is filled.
- A bad image of AIAI has a bad image, so the chat had to be quick to get through and look different from an all-text chatbot. Widgets make it visual and sellers can tap to answer instead of writing.
Where it landed
- Conversion, against the form+15 pts
